The Prince Albert is a often referred to as Ely's 'Proper Pub'. Expect to find 6 cask ales served, all kept very well, 3 of which are rotated on a monthly basis. The pub has had a recent refurbishment but has retained its traditional charm. It has also started offering good quality, freshly prepared food at lunch times from Monday to Saturday and in the evening from Monday to Friday. If you are looking for a comfortable, traditional and friendly pub that serves good beer and good quality food then visit the Prince Albert.

I have visited the PA pub on more than one occasion. They have an outstanding array of good beers and super food. I will always return to this site on any occasion that I am near Ely. England needs more of these typical pubs. Too...More

Visited for a late lunch. There were a few other customers but the restaurant was far from busy. The food was good, particularly the crispy whitebait, a good leek and pea risotto and a veggie deconstructed lasagne. Puddings were good too, a nice pannacotta and...More

Sunday lunch with friends. Very slow drinks service from our table - both initial order and refills. Very rare meat, which I don't mind too much (though there was no choice offered) but tasteless. Good veg apart from tasteless potatoes. Expensive in relation to the...More

Popped in here for a beer and was surprised to find that there was a beer festival on. Good service, beer and ambience. A real gem in a backwater of Ely. Ticks all the boxes in every way for a traditional pub in modern times.

Lovely setting, with a nice garden area out the back. There's a pub and restaurant seating area and it's a popular place. The food is good and reasonably priced - thought has been put into the presentation and there's an interesting selection of dishes. Started...More

Lunch was delicious! Short menu (always a sigh of good food) but with a good range of choice. Friendly, professional service. Drinks a bit slow to come perhaps, but that is being picky. Will return.
