We went to the Christmas market on Friday and it was very good indeed, excellent that you could do both really. Highly recommend the market, need to book in advance.

A most beautiful building! They dont make them like this nowadays! I have visited numerous times, never tire of it. Well worth doing a guided tour. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff.

Ely cathedral is exceptional, it stands out on the skyline and then, when you get close you see the way the town has been built around it - and then you go inside. It is spectacular even amongst other English cathedrals

This is a lovely cathedral with an amazingly beautiful ceiling so be sure to look up! Lots of history too - look out for the Prior's door with it's unusual sculptures. Also, unlike many other cathedrals, admission is free though a donation is requested. Well...More

Not too far, about ten or fifteen minutes, along the river, then through the gardens and park, and along The Gallery to the West door.
