I've never visited here before. Maybe in primary school..... As an adult I knew it would be very school groups and children orientated But I still enjoyed it and enjoyed the part as you enter with the smoke and the boat. Very enjoyable.

Clever by its use of space. Real archeology mixed with interactive hands on fun for the kids... And for those with a more mature view, some rare and well presented finds in a museum context. A must Chester visit.

Great museum although a bit small. The hands on activities were great and the kids (aged 8) loved them. I personally was slightly disappointed with the film as I expected a virtual recondition of Chester in Roman times. Very nice experience overall.

For the five pounds or so entry, this place doesn't offer as much as the Cheshire military museum or the Grosvenor museum but I would recommend visiting as the exhibits and archaeological sections are pretty interesting and the interactive part at the end was fun. Spent just over an hour here.

A really good little museum, really enjoyed the experience. Children will love it too, as they can try puzzles and put on outfits at the end of the tour.

The guide was a very enthusiastic girl with plenty of knowledge of the surroundings. Not quite what I expected to see.

As others have said, it's not Jorvik, but it was interesting, especially the archaeological cross sections. Given the price to get in, I'm sure they could do a lot better, but worth a visit anyway.

I was a bit wary about our trip to the Dewa experience after reading some of the other reviews. It's true that it's not Jorvik, but to be fair it costs far less for the entry fee and personally I felt that it was better value. The main reason for going was our 9 year old son. He has, like... More

I visited recently with my girlfriend and we both really enjoyed ourselves! The museum is a great mix of hands on activities and interesting exhibits! This place is tucked away off the main street so it felt like we had discovered a hidden gem! Recommend to anyone, especially people whose children are history mad!

We visited with a 5 and 7 year old and they thoroughly enjoyed it, especially being able to dress up in a roman helmet and breast plate. The 5 year old was a little unsure at first with the background noise when we went it of romans at work but he soon relaxed and enjoyed looking for bones and mosiacs... More
