We were amazingly entertained by Alan on a 90 mins walking tour. He was a super energetic 80 year old Guild guide who knew so much and was extremely passionate about sharing his knowledge. If we hadn't had a guide, we would have missed so many features. Best £16 value for a family ticket. Chester has a lot to offer.... More

On Christmas Day (!) we gathered with tour guide John who gave us a mega anecdotal tour for 90 minutes. Having spent midnight in the cathedral it was magical to get more history layers explained, he did it with great passion for which I thank him. Weather was cold and perhaps we lingered beside ancient monuments which tell the story... More

Great guide, with an awesome knowledge of chesters ghosts and a wonderful way of interacting and bringing her 'victims' together into her storytelling. Learnt so much about the history and saw some places hadn't been to before. Definately worth going, truly fascinating, thankyou.

The tour was very good and to top it off i had a visit from the St Marys hill witch.... She wasnt as bad looking as made out so i lent over and whisperd in her ear..... Old witch mary, quite contrary how does your garden grow, with moss and slime and poisionous vine and toadstools all in a row... More

This tour was OK but i have to disagree with the tour guide Mary Ann who repeatedly told us how Chester has it over York. York was way better. Mary Anne did show some stuff that you wouldn't see without a guide so the tour is worth doing if you have the time. The Roman tour is very good though.

We had an 80 year old man lead our tour of 6 people. He was more energetic & enthusiastic than any man half his age! He was so knowledgeable & very interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour. What a great city!!

We took this tour on a very hot day but with the "coolest" of guides. Peggy is an elegant charming knowledgeable and witty lady and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. She loves this city and had a wonderful way of interacting with her group and members of the public too. Special hidden insights are given which I don't believe... More

We were in Chester just for a weekend, and the weather looked good so went on this tour (excellent guide Yvonne as noted by another reviewer!). Although listed as 90 minutes, ours went on for just over two hours. The guide took the trouble to ask permission to take us into commercial premises to see Roman and medieval remains. She... More

I found this tour on TripAdvisor and booked it after reading so many positive reviews. We stayed in a hotel chain just outside of Chester - cab ride was 6 pounds for two of us. We got dropped off one block from the tourist office and easily paid on the spot for the tour at 10.30 hours on a Thursday.... More

Simply brilliant. Book with Mike at Chester Ghost Tours. 9 ladies on a night away who wanted something abit...different and WOW what a fab night. The tour started at 9pm and finished in a brilliant old pub at 10.30pm...and yes we needed a drink! A fabulous alternative night learning some interesting history too and you get to see the hidden...
