As did an earlier reviewer, we took the easy way from Port Quin to Port Isaac across the fields, which itself involved a total ascent (and descent) of 150 metres.
The return trip along the coast path was much longer and much more strenuous, involving many steps up and down, with the ascent / descent total coming to 300 metres. The views are great, and there are flowers and butterflies to be spotted on the way.

I'm not necessarily a hiker, but this qualified as a nice walk! The weather was perfect, the scenery amazing and people I met were friendly!

Great section done, although too close to the edge on some bits! Mostly was moderate, and really lucked out with the weather

Our walk started in the tiny hamlet of Port Quinn and took us across undulating fields to Port Isaac. That port was busy with people taking photos of Doc Martin landmarks. I tried to enjoy my fresh crab, sitting on the harbour wall, but the seagulls circled so I had to eat quick.

The journey back was totally different via the coast path. There were several vertical climbs and descents and the path clung to the cliff edge tightly most of the way. A strenuous walk that got the heart pumping.

love walking sections of the coast path, scenery is amazing, this coastline is quite up and down in places, but each section is worth it.

We were staying at Harlyn Bay post total lockdown and were lucky enough to be staying in a cottage about 2 minutes from the beach and access to the coastal walk.

We pretty much went walking along the coast every evening, views were exceptional, sunset sublime, lots of seating along the walk and I'm afraid I'm a bit of a geek where benches have plaques with dedications to loved ones, I mildly irritate my wife as I always stop and read each memorial whenever and wherever I come across them and the coastal walk was rich pickings!! The stories behind each memory same no doubt sad but also a celebration of life enjoyed.

Anyway before I become too maudling, other benefits included a variety of birdlife at close range (unlike the boring Jubilee Queen boat trip - separately reviewed) and so many photo opportunities.

The local and national authorities have done a great job - highly recommended

Don’t rush this walk. There are a lot of steps, but it is one of the more rewarding sections of the coastal path. Parking at Port Quin can be a challenge so best to go early. Great to walk to Port Isaac, have a snack, drink etc and walk back. There is an inland, shorter walk for a change. Best to have strong footwear. Allow 2 hours each way to take it easy and admire the views.

Walked from Port isaac to Port Quin. Wonderful views, not for unfit or immobile people! Very demanding. Walked back across the fields on the inland route, not great if you have a fear of cows!

This section of Path whilst requiring plenty of effort is worth every bit of it. The scenery is fantastic and the slow pace dictated by the terrain is best utilised to take in all i5 has to offer visually.
