This really is worth a visit if you are in Saint Ives. We were treated to a really interesting talk by Andrew who obviously loves everything she has done and made his talk so interesting, we could have listened to him for a lot longer. The sculpture garden is not huge but is so worth a look round. It does... More

Well worth a visit, the simplicity of the surroundings seemed to highlight the magnificence and huge scale of Barbara Hepworths work. The painting of her son and his co pilot completed after they died in a plane crash was particularly moving, The guide told us of a sculpture donated to the local church after Barbara Hepworth's sons death. Unfortunately the... More

Been to the garden and museum four times I think now over the years. It's always a beautiful place to be, both for the sculptures, but also the planting, flowers etc. The workshops are fascinating and the garden, is, well beautiful!! Ha.. Great place. Doubtless I'll be back...

This is really fabulous place to visit - you are inside her home and studio, and get a really intimate view of her living and working environment. It is quite poignant to see her workshop left as it was upon her death....

I have been looking forward to visiting Barbara's Museum for several years. An excellent profile and history of her life is displayed on the bottom floor. The second floor gallery had several small sculptures and maquette. The garden is a quiet intimate place where you are able to enjoy her work for as long as you wish. I have seen... More

This is my second time at Barbara Hepworth's Museum and I still love visiting - reading about her life, her achievements and seeing her sculptures and experiencing the peace in the garden. Also good to see the students enjoying it while they study.

Very well laid out small gallery and garden area with great variety of Hepworth's output. Particularly enjoyed the picture/text layout of her life story - did not know that she had 4 children - a single and then triplets !

St Ives is fantastic in September. I perhaps shouldn't go spreading this rumour as the main reason is because it isn't as busy as August, July or June. Even in September however the streets are teaming with dogs, surf boards and prams. That is until you enter this corner of 20th Century Sculptural lust and greenery tucked away off the... More

This is a small museum dedicated to Barbara Hepworth. The sculpture garden is set atop the hill overlooking the village with a clear attention to the flora and fauna intermixed. I found it calming, inspiring a peaceful curiosity of the artists intentions and commitment to large scale stone manipulation. I was very impressed with her ability to smooth out large... More
