What a beautiful house. We visited Coleton Fishacre not knowing what to expect - and we thought it was stunning. The house itself is lovely, very stylish and elegant. The gardens are wonderful with walks near the sea. There is a shop and cafe offering home made cakes. We enjoyed it and would highly recommend a visit - it's not... More

My wife and I made our 2nd visit here last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it again. The house is lovely and for fans of art deco then the furnishing is great. The gardens are equally tremendous and there are lots to explore. Even the food there is good and our only disappointment was that we didn't see the estate cat... More

Do visit this wonderful house and grounds. It is owned by the National Trust so you need to pay on entry, and there is a pay car park unless you are a Nat. Trust member in which case it's free. The contents of the house are mainly Art Deco and some fabulous examples of furniture, lighting, mirrors and clothing from... More

What a gem of a place. The house is beautiful with beautiful gardens going down to the sea with a large variety of plants and flowers, some exotic as the climate is suitable. There are elegant Art-Deco interiors. It is the former home of the D'Oyly Carte family and one can see life as it was upstairs and downstairs and... More

We went because we were both interested in Art Deco and the period. The house was very fine and the Gardens and Outlook were absolutely superb. We would recommend it to anyone. PS It could be a bit difficult to find however we found our sat nav was spot on in directing us down quite narrow lanes. Keep a note... More

This must be one of the top places to visit in the country, National trust or otherwise. It really does have everything needed for a fulfilling trip: from the D'Oyly Carte beginnings on a bare site, with the design and construction of the house during the sylish 1920's, to the now mature and splendid gardens and walks in a marvellous... We went to revisit the beautiful house and gardens and picked a lovely day. Staff were friendly and parking was easy.Unfortunately the coffee machine was not working in the cafe. Can I please request that national trust cafes stock roibush tea as they stock other herbal teas.?

We went on a gorgeous sunny day and the stone and slate house beckoned at the head of the steep wooded valley in which it lies. For those who like an idiosyncratic house, designed to a commission by a restrained London architect, this is the place for you. Essentially a country house in an area which must have been fantastically remote... More
