We found this open on a sunday in march so climbed the stairs to visit a small but well organized museum packed with exhibits. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, there were a lot of intriguing exhibits as well as being able to pull out drawers to see more of the collections cataloguing not just the Royal Naval College.

A small museum, but packed with history. From Kings and Queens of the past to a merchant who lived in the house, the museum gives a glimpse in to our history here in England. Some windy stairs to climb, only a short flight, but accessible for most. The Museum also has a little shop and very helpful volunteer staff.

This little museum offers a wonderful snippet of the history of Dartmouth. Some beautiful model ships and a very interesting war display. Worth a good half-an-hour visit.

Loved this place and had to go back as it takes a while to take in the wealth of detail and see all the exhibits. The staff are very knowledgable and obviously proud of the place. There is something from every era of local history plus videos and sound effects andvall for a veryvmodest entrance fee.

Popped in on a rainy day. Stairs difficult for mobility but if you can manage worth 1/2 hour of your time.

This small museum is well worth visiting. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The modest entry fee is great value. Based in a lovely old house, the exhibits show the development of Dartmouth from medieval times to the relatively recent. There is much to interest the casual visitor and the serious scholar alike.

worth a couple of pounds to learn about in and around Dartmouths history. Very quaint buliding, i was particularly interested in the ww2 history about Slapton Sands and Dartmouth itself.

Nearly missed it - glad we didn't. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The museum looked really cared for. A lot of information on Dartmouth and sailing ships in a fairly small space. Learnt a lot about how the area was so important to the 1944 invasion. As I said "well worth a visit".
