Having tried unsuccessfully to find a place to eat in Topsham, we were cruising back on our way towards Sidmouth when my partner suggested a visit to The pink pub. Our first surprise was the bar at the front was closed, and we were served our drinks out of a hatch in the car park. We ordered our pasties, and... More

Great unspoilt pub with loads of history..a no nonsense pub having been in the same family for some years. Have never eaten here as for us it is more of a watering hole to meet up with friends but the beer is always well kept. The opening/closing times are rather regimented but good luck to them, this is a blast... More

This was an experience to remember. We loved this charming family-run cosy and authentic pub with tables outside overlooking the river. It was so nice to be in a real historic pub that hasn't been refurbished in the same fashion as every other pub in the country. (Pubs all seem the same now and often have lost some of their... More

Ancient, simple, wonderful. Hadn't been for 30 years and was worried that it might have changed. Not a chance.

I recently attended a folk music function in The Malt House at the Bridge Inn. The room has real old world atmosphere and the pub is perfectly located on the bank of the River Clyst. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Beer was excellent. Music was very enjoyable and atmosphere very enjoyable. A great evening.

I believe this pub has been likened to a museum but it feels more alive than that and my beer was in beautiful condition, worth going out of your way for.

Very varied beers and ciders on offer, very knowledgeable staff. Great location by the river, overlooking the flood plains, just outside Topsham. Whenever I'm in town I come here, I love it so much. Nothing more I can say!

Recommended to us and we were not disappointed. Quirky pub. Odd rooms served from a hatch. Superb ploughman's. Don't think hot food served unless pastie was warm. Lovely view of the river. Superb chutney on sale

Have visited a couple of times, an historic Inn, great setting overlooking the river and the fields rolling into the distance. We sat in the garden being served from an old split door, ordered our food, staff very chatty and friendly. The food arrived...my oh my. It was amazing, can get very busy at times but a warm welcome awaits... More
