Overview
More
Plymouth Arts Centre is a nationally acclaimed centre for contemporary art, independent cinema, and creative learning. We commission work by national and international artists, working with them to develop a unique, challenging and varied programme of exhibitions. Our cinema is independent, so we hand-pick all of our films, from the best of arthouse cinema from around the world to those blockbusters that you wouldn’t want to watch anywhere else. We stream live theatre from NT Live and RSC Live. We have Bringing in Baby and Demntia Friendly screenings. In the summer we go on tour for our annual Open Air Cinema screenings around iconic Plymouth locations like Royal William Yard, Tinside Lido and Mount Edgcumbe. Learning is at the heart of all of our activities. Plymouth Arts Centre is a creative place to socialise, and we want to enable as many people as possible to experience art, and feel inspired, confident and thrilled by what they encounter. We run regular Creative Play workshops for toddlers and their parent, and Family Art Workshops. We believe that culture changes the world for the better.

Independent cinema and art. Friendly helpful staff. The short film festival has given me a real taste for this genre. What a great weekend.

Exciting art venue in Plymouth, with great programme and inclusive atmosphere. Always good talks and workshops to attend and a great hub for Plymouth based artists. Cinema is great too, showing independent films, with a nice glass of something from the bar. :)

Gallery was showing experimental filmmaker Malcolm Le Grice. Cosy coffee bar with usual fayre and reasonable coffee in this district of the town.

Plymouth Arts Centre has been going for a long time but has seen some changes over the years. The cinema is a little less adventurous than it was, but is still the only place in Plymouth where you can see decent films, and the old...More

Is the cinema closed on Sundays, as indicated on the TripAdvisor heading? The main attraction at PAC is the cinema which is different from others in the town. Why not have it added to Tripadvisor's quaintly named 'Movie Theatre' category?

Hi, we have just updated our profile so info is now up to date. We're open from Tuesday - Saturday and have indeed added ourselves to the "Movie Theater" category :) Thanks for your feedback Jannerbloke.
