Good night out.

Very good smaller part of the Theatre Royal Plymouth. Always a varied amount of performances for all tastes.

As a theatre, it brings to mind the small off- Broadway theatres, where the dreamers go to stage their off the wall dreams and the critics dislike. But I guess that, as an offshoot to the main theatre, that is, where they stage what they know will not be generally well attended, then, first rate.

Part of the Theatre Royal located at the bottom of Royal Parade and next to a multi story car park and on the main bus routes. Some excellent smaller production compliment the main Lyric theatre. In House Productions and smaller visiting companies provide a varied programme . It seats just over 200 people and it has an informal auditorium which... More

I have enjoyed so many different genres in the Drum, from professional touring companies to locally produced theatre and local amateur productions including from the Theatre Royal's very own TR2. It offers a little bit of something different.

Being a Janner (native Plymothian) I have been to many different shows in the Drum - for something a bit different and more intimate you can't beat it. It is very reasonably priced as well. Recommended!

For something different and intimate, visit the Drum. This corner of the Theatre Royal is perfect to try performences that are a little different or experimental. There is full access to the bars and cafe and the venue is a great way to enjoy a new experience.

Drum theatre is a smaller theatre attached to the main theatre royal. The production I saw here was very good, you got really involved in the performance and has an amazing atmosphere & at such a reasonable price.

A great intimate theatre attached to the Theatre Royal. Been there many times and seen many different offerings. The plays etc are put on by many different theatre groups. Well priced always worth a visit and taking a chance of what is on. We have seen some exceptional offerings by taking a chance.

Small theatre attached to the main one, have seen about 3 productions here and have always been surprised at the quality. different type of theatre, shorter time wise and value for money if you want to experience something probably a little quirky

The Drum is a really good Studio style theatre with a good rake and reasonably versatile performance space. Most seats have an excellent view. We have been twice in consecutive years while visiting the area and have seen two very different productions. Most recently we saw Forever House which gave plenty to think about. We were unable to get to... More
