There is no better place to be, sat on the Hoe looking out at the sound. In the Summer it is beautiful and the boat racing is a plus,it really is a slice of heaven. So much to see.

A great place for a visit, beautiful views of the sound and the breakwater. So much to see, navy ships and brittany ferries, also day craft, yachts and dockyard and warship boats. A walk along the esplanade, usually lots of walkers and dogs and skateboarders. A glimpse over the edge and the 1930's lido pool. A few cafes to stop... More

This huge natural harbour means that inexperienced sailors can enjoy real sea sailing in safety. I once threw a hand line over the side and was cooking mackerel onboard twenty minutes later.

Plymouth Sound has so much to offer - watch the ferries, frigates and yachts manoeuvre their way of the the sound into open water and stop off for a wander around the historic Barbican where there is a wide range of good restaurants and pubs. Make sure you stop at The Mayflower Steps to imagine the Pikgrims setting off for... More

A great place to visit, fantastic views out to sea. Watch the navy ships entering or leaving the Sound or the ferries bound for Roscoff. Always something different every day

Plymouth is a natural harbour and the setting on the Hoe looking out over Plymouth sound is second to none. You can park right beside it, there are beautiful gardens around it where you can sit and picnic, or if you want there are ample places to eat some great food. Have a stroll down to the historic Barbican and... More
