I was surprised at the mixed reviews here. My 7 year old daughter was desperate to visit and my son had been on a school trip before. The lady running the centre was very friendly and knowledgeable and made us all feel really welcome. The children were given quiz sheets to use around the exhibition which was great, as they... A good reminder of the original exhibition of the 70's. These are models. A tableau of the "find", and lots of cases with models of the famous finds. Good souvenirs to buy in the shop

This was the first of 5 exhibitions we visited on the golden ticket deal and was by far the best, it was informative and told the story really well. It was great to move around the exhibit as if you were in the different chambers of the tomb. Good for children to follow.

We paid £36 yesterday for the exhibition & that was with the extra cost of the Mummies. Why there was an extra cost to visit another room upstairs was shocking! It was all very small & so much to read, overwhelming amount for kids to take in. So my 9 & 10 year olds thought it was boring. So i... More

Thought a rainy day educational visit would be fun. The entrance price is a absolute rip off. In comparison to the Dorset museum on the other side of the road which is half the price and superb!! The exhibition itself is tired and so small. When we went a school trip was being run so we were all squashed together... More

The exhibition celebrates its 30th anniversary in April. We visited soon after it opened and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, a return visit last week left us gobsmacked at the changes to the layout. Early days there was so much intrigue, but the changes to cram in as much detail as possible in such a small building has made it... More

We paid £28 for a family ticket and annoyingly it is an extra £7 to visit the Mummies exhibition upstairs...not sure what they do this, it should be included. I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was. The exhibition is Ok - the information boards are a bit text heavy, especially for children, some good replica artefacts... More

I haven't visited this exhibition for some time and my return visit showed that nothing had changed. At nearly £30 for 1 adult and 2 children I expected a lot more. This is very poor value for money. The exhibition is small but should not have prevented the owners giving better value for the money paid. It covers the history... More

We were recommended to this exhibition and on arrival we winced at the cost of entrance. No concessions. The exhibition was small in a very small space. Too small and too dark. No doubt done for effect. All exhibits were replicas. Some interesting reading but too cramped to appreciate. What a shame, not worth the cost.

Daphne deserves a raise! She was very accommodating, friendly and efficient. Our questions were answered and she was very helpful. The exhibition was very detailed and informative. We learned a lot and our daughter was able to reinforce her/our knowledge from when she did the topic in school. It was interesting seeing canopic jars and artifacts. Value for money. I... More
