Recently visted the museum with my family. My lad 4 loves dinosaurs and Jurassic Parks. When he saw this place he was gutted we spent 20mins there and he wanted to leave. The dinosaurs are dated and even plastic toys, the building is just a old school and for the price its shocking. The staff looked like they were not... More

Paid for my son and grandchildren to visit to keep them quiet for a while. Worked like magic. They loved it, talked about it for ages. It is clearly one of Dorchester's better attractions for children, ideal for a wet day.

Expected more for the price. Although my 2 yr old was amazed with the dinosaurs and got free entry, us adults paid £7.50 each (due to a 15%online discount). The building was small and the time there was not much of a family day out with us having to stretch our visit over an hour to get our money's worth.... More

Forgot to check tripadvisor before our visit. Paid £22 for family of 4 (children aged 8y and 5y). The kids enjoyed the egg hunt trail, but the whole visit took us less than 1 hour and I don't think this is good value for money. There are a few interactive displays (smelling T Rex breath, feeling inside hidden boxes) which... More

We promised our dinosaur mad 5 year old a trip to the this museum but after reading the reviews we decided against it, and told a little white lie..."Sorry son it's closed" (*Bad parents!) the rest of the week whilst on holiday he kept bringing it up so we decided to take the plunge and stop by on our way... Dinosaurs appeal to kids and the website certainly markets a venue which isn't really what you get. This is the main reason for the low score. We felt a bit duped but mostly a bit sorry for the place. It's 3 rooms in an old school house and very small. "Acclaimed as one of Britain's Top 10 Family Museums in... More

This dinosaur museum is not worth visiting- as so many others have pointed out. Even if it was for free you would think the educational value is so limited that it is simply disappointing.

Whilst interesting, if you are an avid reader, I felt that there could have been more activities or more informative displays that were aimed at a younger audience. A couple of the displays didn't work and you couldn't hear the answers to the questions. A bit manic trying to fit so many families in such a small building. I really... More

We went today having looked on the website. We were expecting a fabulous trip out to experience some great exhibits. We were very disappointed. There was a quiz to do, our 11 year old pointed out the poor grammar, and poorly asked questions. The displays were poor and dated. We left after 40 minutes that included the gift shop and... More
