Housed in a building opposite the Royal Pavilion and behind The Brighton Dome, the architecture is the same style these two buildings are renowned for. There is a lot of items on display that relate to local history and constantly changing exhibitions - I visited on the opening day of Photo Punk. There are also a lot of Art Deco... More

Good design museum and quite a lot on local history too. An excellent place to visit on a wet day. The special exhibitions are always good

The Egypt exhibit and the African Designer Exhibits were. Wry interesting. The rest of the museum seemed pretty hokey to me. There was a lot of pottery and porcelain, historical furniture, and some history of Brighton. These weren't very interesting.

Enjoyable visit here. Diverse collection of things to see but for me the glimpse of old Brighton was the most fascinating . Having decided not to visit the pavillon due to the exhorbitant price, the museum was a pleasant surprise.

We weren't impressed with the museum. The exhibitions were fairly small and completed before we knew it. I think we only went in as it was pouring with rain but having just paid to go round the Pavilion I'd have rather paid a pound or two more for a joint ticket rather than pay another £5 to keep out of... I love this museum, it's eclectic and yet retains its charm and varied interests in all it's interesting objects/paintings displayed. They always have new exhibits to view.

Didn't enjoy it at all... the palace is awesome and is one of my top places to visit in the uk but this measium is totally poor and with nothing to see see of fascination. Save your money and enjoy the experience of tea an the terrace at the palace instead.

A small but fascinating exhibition looking at modern fashion in selected African countries. Some great fabrics and stunning clothes, some just unusual; also relevant music, films and background facts. Well worth the visit.
