The Lanes is a great laid back shopping experience. Cool, easy paced independent businesses with lots of character. If you have a couple of hours to kill and like looking for rare and interesting curios outside of big bog standard malls then this is a...More

Jus as I remembered, I lived in Brighton 40 years ago and spent some time most week-ends stalling through the lanes window shopping. Returning after so long I though I would notice a difference but intact it was still relatively the same, lots of small...More

Could have strolled around all day here. Unfortunately I don't earn enough to buy anything in most the shops but it's nice to see how the other half live. So much contrast in such a small place. In some parts you could mistaken it for...More

Maybe I got there at the wrong time but this just didn't really do it for me. It's slowly being invaded by the familiar chains - especially as far as the restaurants go. Try the North Lanes instead.

First time in the lanes for a long time. Lots changed now but it's still magical and brought back brilliant memories. Worth a stroll

I love walking through the small streets loads of nice shops and historical buildings. Loved the unusual shops like the duck shop and armour shop and the jewellery shops. Would return to this area again.

The lanes are nice to walk through. Various nice stores and lot of juwelerries. If you walk north there are some other streets with a variety of stuff to buy

Great place to wander round the narrow alleys and window-shop. Plenty of places to eat and drink and if you like jewellery it has it galore. Easy to while away a few hours.

The Lanes is a host of independent traders who open (as you'd imagine) independently. Some of the cafes open earlier for breakfasts but most of the jewellery shops start opening up around 10am

I think that each of the shops have their own hours - we did go there in the day and at night and many were open in the evening. Its interesting even when they are not open and worth a visit at any time.
