Winner of the Chortle Award an unprecedented 14 times for best venue in the South, including 2017.

Brighton's premier live entertainment venue presents one of the largest, most diverse arts and entertainment programmes in the UK. Every year we put on around 700 performances of comedy, music, cabaret and kids shows. We're also home to several of Brighton's most popular club nights.

All taking place under one roof, Komedia incorporates two exciting, unique performance spaces with flexible set-ups and a kitchen serving freshly prepared food at most seated shows.

Our programme includes a unique range of Komedia-grown resident shows such as the Krater Comedy Club, Comic Boom and Bent Double

This venue is fine for comedy, but it is completely hopeless for any visual performance because it is impossible to see the performance from anywhere beyond the first few rows. The seating is almost entirely on one level that is hardly higher than that of the stage. Unfortunately for us the performance that we attended this evening was billed as... More

I went to Komedia as part of a stag do last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The space is a bit crammed and cosy, but this does get the atmosphere going. The three comedians were all good and offered three distinct genres of comedy. The food we had was not bad, but there's room for improvement there. All in all,... More

A great venue to see a film or some stand up comedy, very cosy studio with small bar (reasonably priced) gives a more cosy and personal feeling, as though the performers are with in touching distance and you feel part of something. A real good night out and so easy to get to too!

I spent a Friday night with friends at the Komedia club, the MC for the night was excellent, sharp and knowledgeable when picking on the audience. All the acts were good, a good selection of beer including local hand pulled beers. I would recommend for a fun night out with friends.

My boyfriend and I each paid £35 to see the Saturday night Krater Comedy show and have a main meal, however all in all, were left quite disappointed. The vegetarian burger was your bog standard vegetable mush burger that can be purchased from any supermarket. It was so tasteless and boring that I ended up leaving most of it as... More

Firstly I would like to say the comedians were really good and funny. However, I wouldn't recommend this for an activity for a stag do. The security was very rude. We were accused of talking too much when all we were doing was whispering to each other.

Hi Andy, Thank you for your review. We're pleased that you thought that the comedians were funny. It's a shame that on this occasion you were not happy with the evening. However, we do have a strict policy on talking during the show. As you come into the venue the staff make you aware of this, there are announcements before... More

Never been before and had read some of the reviews. Went with a small party for a hen night - absolutely fantastic night! Ticket prices are very good and if you buy in advance you get a better deal. We brought tickets with a meal. The food was exellent value and tasted great. Brilliant show! All three of the acts... More
