The Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester the 'Capital of the Cotswolds'. Its principal collection consists of the highly significant finds from the Roman town of Corinium. However the museum today is much more than that, taking the visitor on a journey through time and charting the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern day. The light and modern galleries offer the visitor an exceptional interactive experience. The museum is renowned for its learning provision, with an education centre and temporary exhibition space that ensure a vibrant, changing programme of events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

This museum really does engage the visitor with its interactive displays. On two levels and following a time line. Some lovely Roman artifacts

We had a great trip with our family to the museum. Lots for the children (4 and 7 yo) to do and learn. Some of the video/computer exhibits need fixing/reinvestment, but it was a great way to learn more about the fascinating history of the area. Staff were really helpful and the coffee shop attached was amazing (with the largest... More

It was a cold day whilst visiting Cirencester so decided to go in on the spur of the moment to warm up. We (me, hubby and Dad) was very pleasantly surprised. We actually spent over an hour and a half her but could have spent longer but due to commitments had to cut it short. It was the best museum... More

If your interest is in Roman Britain, then this is the place for you. Although the museum has exhibits ranging from the prehistoric to the 20th century (with an especially interesting Anglo-Saxon gallery), most of what is on show are finds relating to Corinium (Cirencester) and sites close by. And these finds are stunning; not just the mosaics - which... More

Visited today with my grandchidren spent nearly 3 hours looking back in time. I visited due to my grandson learning about the Romans at school and you can't get more roman than Cirencester. Lots of interactive exhibits for children but the exhibits would entertain and inspire any age. The interior is highly modern and the exhibits well maintained and interesting... More

Not over priced, change from ten pounds for two OAP's. The displays were well laid out in very spacious surrounds. We found however that most of the interactive features were not working or not switched on. Would be suitable for children if these features were working.
