We visited a number of years ago, and returned in May 2017. The Church and grounds are still as we remember them. Some slight maintenance to the gate posts, but a worthwhile stroll around the graveyard brings the history to life. Remember to visit the stocks bordering the graveyard wall.

The grounds are excellently maintained and the trees fantastically shaped. The quirky tourist office is also situated in the grounds. Because of the very high tower it helps as a guide when walking in the area as it can be seen from miles around. Well worth a visit.

Painswick is a beautiful village, but really can anything surpass the wonderful church and their associated grounds. It flies the English flag and this church has all the hallmarks that make you proud of our country. I take my hat off for the groundskeeper...as you will read from other reviews there are approximately 100 yew trees in the grounds that... More

I visited this church this week while staying in Painswick. It is a really beautiful building which can be seen for miles around. There seems to be a thriving work going on from the church which is always good to see. The churchyard is full of stunning yew trees all well manicured and lovely to look at.

This is a well-maintained, classic Cotswold church. It has an interesting history which tells you about Painswick itself. The unique thing about it is its 99 (I didn't count them) yew trees which lend it an "Alice in Wonderland" feel.

Count the giant lollipop-shaped yew trees outside -- there are 99 of all sizes and varying shapes. It's lovely to wonder around and check out the ancient graves -- table-top style. However, do pop inside for a visit -- it's free, but like me you'll probably want to leave a donation to help this lovely parish. Admire the handiwork of... More

The yew trees surrounding the church makes it extra special. Love the village and the people are extremely nice. Would def visit again if I ever found myself in Gloucester.
