G!old access for cars and pedestrians, take a quiet walk through the trees, listen to the birds singing above the babbling of the River Wye as it flows past on it's way down towards the sea. Take a picnic with you and have your meal al fresco. Try not to pick the flowers, it is a great temptation, but they... More

A nice quiet place to go for a walk. Not for disabled visitors or those with mobility challenges. A lovely garden below the New Weir and a walled garden to explore. No tea room but there are toilets - a nice place for a picnic.

This is an attraction worth a visit. However if you have limited mobility, buggies/strollers & young children this will be a challenge but not insurmountable. We were warned about the tree roots but not advised to take a more passable route (which we found on the way back). Our 3 year old loved looking at the foliage but found the... More

A wonderful garden to visit early spring when the snowdrops are flowering and later on with the daffodils when the abundance of trees are in bud. This is the most perfect setting by the river. A lovely path takes you along the river bank into a meadow and then walk back above the garden by the rockery and over a... More

It wasn't the best weather for a trip to the gardens - overcast and a bit drizzly, but it didn't diminish them in any way. The paths meander along on a gradual slope until you are overlooking the river, the bank down to it was covered in daffodils when we went, quite lovely. Lots of interesting trees and we loved... A National Trust garden set in acres of lovely banked woodland along the river Wye. Several walks available or just sit in one of the many seats and watch the canoeists go by whilst eating a picnic. A small shop has some items for sale and a nearby tent has tea & coffee with an honesty box. A lovely way... More

We arrived 10 minutes before the main site opened, so first we explored the walled garden which was already open, where an abundance of beautiful flowers were waiting behind the door. Plants were available to buy from the greenhouse - pay at the main kiosk. Once in the main site we headed for the tea-tent. It offers basic, self-service facilities... More

March is the perfect time for the Garden the daffodils are in full cry and the place is coming alive. It's is easy to find and a lovely half an hour walk though quite steep at times. The Wye dominates most vistas but the gardens are the perfect backdrop. It certainly in Spring is simply beautiful and well worth a... More

Without stopping to admire the views, sit by the river and look at the flowers the walk round takes an approx 3/4 hour. And then you have to go to the tea tent and the walled garden. We noticed a couple of people with walking difficulties having to take the slopes and the occasional narrow path very slowly. So not... More

An excellent choice for an enchanting breath of fresh air and a little exercise at any time of year but particularly enchanting in Spring because off the wealth of bulbs planted naturally amongst the grass and tree roots . The garden falls in roughly three tiers down from the White Georgian house ( now a nursing home ) to the... More
