St Albans Cathedral is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain. It stands over the place where Alban, the first martyr, was buried after giving his life for his faith over 1700 years ago.The building itself is a blend of architectural styles spanning a millennia and contains recycled Roman bricks from Verulamium. Of special interest are the 13th century wall paintings, a rare watching loft and the shrines of Saint Alban and Amphibalus, the priest who converted Alban to Christianity.

If you are in St Albans take time to visit this beautiful Cathedral. Your time will not be wasted , take a tour and then you will not miss any of the history. Then take a stroll around the park.

We visited the Cathedral and we were lucky enough to have a conducted tour by Helen. The Cathedral is stunning but the tour and Helen's knowledge and delivery made the visit memorable.

Had a lovely time. Food, surroundings and service were all excellent. I even managed to visit the Cathedral afterwards and bought some wonderful charity Christmas cards for my friends and family.

This Is quite an Iconic Building in St Albans, you can’t view it from the town very well, you just have to follow the sign posts. However if you go to Verulamium Park there are some stunning views of it from the hill side. The...More

I grew up with this cathedral as my brother was in the choir, yet years later did the tour and learned so many more things. I think its a place you could visit time and again and still not known everything about it

I have a soft spot for old churches and cathedrals, and this one doesn't dissapoint. Not as grand and ornate aa some others, but loads of beautiful architecture and stone work, definitely worth a visit!
