I've always wanted to see this but when we went, it was full of scaffold inside and out. There was lots of noise so the atmosphere was not at all religious or peaceful. We had paid over £10 each for the privilege of going in (we are both on a pension but you had to be over 65 to get... More

Combined our visit by staying for Evensong, It was simply glorious, and to visit such a stunning building like this is a great opportunity to understand the story of Christianity in England, but to be able to share in a service with such magnificent music makes a visit a here an unforgettable experience of living history

Really historical place. Well worth a visit - fully accessible too. Staff are really friendly and helpful. There is a lot of history in this place. There are concessions for seniors and for disabled visitors. No problems.

Canterbury Cathedral is breathtakingly impressive, in size and scale, and provides a window on the last 1500 years of history. It was founded by Augustine, who brought Christianity to these islands in 597AD. More recently (!) it was the site of Thomas Becket's murder in 1170. As you would imagine, there is a lot to see - from the site... More

Unfortunately we didn't actually visit as they were charging £32 for a family which was to expensive for us. This made us feel excluded from a house of God and as Christians this really upset us. We understand that the money goes towards restoration but after visiting rochester cathedral earlier that day that had a recommended donation (which we willingly... More

Always wanted to see this Cathedral and as we were in Kent decided to stay extra day to do this (Pity about Best Western). For first time paid for the guided tour,JAMES was wonderful and so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We were enthralled, the tour lasted two hours which I couldn't believe seemed like 1/2 hour because it was so interesting.... More
