Seat of Protestants worldwide, wonderful building over several floors, so don't miss the crypt, the Martyrdom where Thomas Beckett was murdered and the gothic Choir stalls. Outside the Cloisters are stunning, as is the Chapter room and as for the herb garden? A little piece of heaven.

We attended the 11:00 Sung Eucharist service today and it was a wonderful experience. The setting, in the quire of the huge cathedral, was absolutely beautiful. The pageantry added to the experience as did the visiting choir for the day. I was at first disappointed that the Cathedral Choir was on vacation, but this choir performed a Bela Bartok setting... Absolutely beautiful and well maintained piece of history. A donation is recommended as an entrance fee.

So, I'm on Medicare. The nice ladies with the golden sashes answering questions made me feel young. They spend their lives at the cathedral, love to talk, and will be overjoyed to answer any question you may have. The cathedral is obviously impressive, but I got the feeling you would be very lucky to see it with all restorations complete.... More

Canterbury Cathederal the mother church to the Angican community is steeped in history from the murder of Thomas aBecket onward yet remains a very spritual place where you can find a quiet corner for personal reflection even when there are lots of tourists about. The prayers for Manchester our home city following the atrosity carried out were very special.

First glimpse is of the entry gate which is fantastic in itself with all the carvings. The cathedral is high with towering gothic arches, intricate stained glass and fine wood throughout. The interior is nspiring, but then so s the exterior. There is a candle burning in memory of archbishop Becket and you see the very spot where he was... More

We were breath taken by the Canterbury Cathedral. Be sure to go to the Evenservice at 5:30 and listen to the choir boys sing-it was an experience we will never forget. Also, stop by and see the crypt before the service-admission is FREE!

It is a must see if visiting Canterbury. Full of interesting and very important history which has moulded Britain. My favourite part is the peaceful gardens inside the grounds of the cathedral. I would recommend getting to there for 9 when it opens as it seems the school and tourist groups start to arrive around 10.

History, with the Archbishop of Canterbury being the lead for the Church of England, flows through the Cathedral. Beauty is self-evident. We were also able to attend an Eventide service.
