We are senior citizens so the price to get in was very good. Then we noticed a guided tour by Maureen which a Was informative, humorous and fascinating. Maureen really made us aware of the sense of history there is in this holy place.

Canterbury cathedral is a must visit on a trip to the town of Canterbury. There is an entrance fee but it is fair, considering the cost of upkeep of this marvelous old structure.

As befits its status, this is a large busy cathedral: busy with tourists but also with lots of services. The grounds are delightful. Not to be missed

The cathedral is the site of the culmination of an early church versus state quarrel with dire consequences for Archbishop Thomas Beckett. The many volunteer guides throughout the cathedral and the iconography bring the story of Beckett to life.

I'm a local, so I visit often. On my last visit, I had an intriguing discussion with one of the volunteers - very pleasant, interesting and amusing. We talked about all the secret parts of the cathedral, including tiny staircases and secret rooms, where the Queen goes when she visits, heads of state from UK and US, royals, security, WW2,... Beautiful Church. Was there for my sons graduation from the University of Kent. They held the ceremony in the church.

Situated in the heart of Canterbury, this magnificent Cathedral oozes peace and calm as soon as one enters the precincts. As a couple, it cost £24 to enter which seems a bit steep for a religious building! I felt in the mood to have a guided tour, so we paid an extra £5 each, but, boy, oh boy, that extra... More

I thought I'd had my fill of churches and cathedrals, then I visited Canterbury Cathedral. It is difficult to absorb the magnificent architecture, the carvings, the windows, the crypt, the very spot where Thomas Becket was murdered, the history in every nook and cranny. Amazing.
