Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago. Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary. Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

We visited the Canterbury Tales museum with our two children, aged 11 and 8 during October half term. The price for a family was £28.50 and we spent around an hour there. The scenery and models of old England were really good and we liked...More

Too expensive for what it is. One faded welcomer. One somewhat bored introducer. Dark 5 rooms of tatty costumed life sized models with fairly dull renditions of their tales. Staggered that not one word spoken as I recall learning for my O levels, no reference...More

It only takes an hour but I’ve been twice now. Once with husband and once with daughter. It is well done. Go when it opens to miss the crowds and find out about some of the Canterbury Tales the lazy way! Good for children to...More

As another review says "Just a bit of historic fun". Only Oscar awarded to the lively bar wench (real one) who starts & ends the tale. Otherwise the group takes a journey through several rooms, where stores are told with help of life sized models...More

Not bad but not amazing! I did enjoy it but would have liked more! More actors and more surprises! Good that it educates you and is a reasonably fun experience. A few stories read out on the remote/ phones to listen to were quite funny.

This attraction was fun and cute. The actors were enthusiastic—unfortunately their audience was just me and another woman whom I didn’t know, and we were both quite shy. But the actors did their best with what we gave them! I found the animatronics + audio...More

The staff were great and very knowledgeable. Was a fun thing to do but I’m not sure it is worth £9.95 each (adults). We went on the train so got 2 for 1 entry so only just short of £5 each and that was worth...More

A well enacted and amusingly told trot through the tales of Chaucer, some with actors, other illustrated recordings. Children's and other language versions available.
