My son and I go to Dover castle fairly often. We're from the area and I have an English Heritage membership so it's easy to head up there for a day out. There is a lot of walking involved including a lot of steps so anyone with reduced mobility would struggle. The views from the top of the castle are... More

Dover castle is by far the most impressive i have ever seen. And I get to see it everyday from my doorstep. We still go up regularly, the tunnels are fascinating, the history is amazing. Truly beautiful castle with history to match.

Visit to dover castle is a must. The views from it and even looking to it are quite impressive. It is as you would expect full of history and the guides are informative as is the signing. If you are visiting or passing through Dover it has to be on your must list!

Spent two days (with an overnight stay at a nearby hotel) looking over Dover Castle and all it has to offer, and all I can say is that we have to go back to finish the job. It is a huge site, with mant different sights, sounds, smells and different historic periods to encounter. It's also right on the cliffs... More

I loved it! Allow at least two and a half hours to visit this site. I think this is a place to visit in a warmer season because outside the castle and the tunnels you may have an even more wonderful view.

We bring a college student group every summer because this site offers hundreds of years of history, beautiful views, knowledgeable guides, well-stocked shops, restaurant variety and lovely walks. On a clerk day, you can see France and visitors not only appreciate the view, but also the historical significance of the castle and town.

Hadnt been for many years and had forgotten just what a great place this is. One day really isnt enough to get around the place. The views from the top are worth the visit alone, not just out across the channel, but because of the terrain it feels like you can see for miles around. There is a lot of... More

I came here as a child and now regularly visit with my own children. I'm an English Heritage member which I would really reccomend as it pays for itself in just two visits. There is just so much to do here and it covers so many interesting periods of English history - from the Romans all the way to WWII.... More

We visited Dover Castle over the Christmas period as a family that included my father in law. We were lucky as we had complimentary tickets to get in-I was astounded to see the pricing which would of cost us best part of £100 to get in otherwise. Due to the time of year, parking was easy and the tours were... More
