We were in Cockermouth for three days and the Kirkgate was one of the things that we had pre-booked. The temperature was in the 30’s and it really was too hot to sit for 2-3 hours with it’s poor ventilation/cooling. Still ..... very well worth...More

We came to watch a performance of The Dance Club. It was excellent, only four actors and they had the audience hooked in from the start. The venue was a perfect setting. We’ve been here a few times to see movies when we’ve visited the...More

Went to see a comedian here last night and it was a great venue for it. It's small, which makes a great atmosphere, and while it's intimate, you don't feel like you're crowded by anyone, it was lovely. Don't think the bar had a huge...More

Lively intimate local venue with a fine cross section of entertainment.Plans are afoot to extend and improve the venue which can only be good for the town.

Went for an evening of live folk which was really good. The centre is largely manned by volunteers and is fairly basic but fun and just what is needed for Cockermouth

I have been to a number of events there now on my visits to Cokermouth in the last year and I have to say I have enjoyed every one of them. Not yet been disappointed, prices very reasonable and the atmosphere always cosy.

Went to see the Peatbog Faeries here on Thursday night and it was absolutely amazing! So great to see such a fantastic band in a small intimate venue. It was very hot, but it didn't stop us all dancing! Everyone was really friendly and the...More

From memory, there is a ramp (and rail) to gain access and a lift if the event is on the first floor but it is an old building. Dependent upon specific circumstances, suggest contacting the centre.
