Really lovely place, well worth a visit. we took our kayaks here and camped at the national trust campsite (Hoathwaite). its really pretty and I much prefer it over Windermere which is very commercialised now.
Beautiful lake, lovely café called the Bluebird, hired a motor boat and went round the lake. Took our elderly mum's on the national trust boat, called the Gondola, thoroughly enjoyed it!
wonderfully quiet in comparison to Windermere. lots of excellent paths and walks around Coniston Water
Spent a couple of hours in this beautiful lake. It was a little windy that day but it didn't stop people to go boating and kids swimming. Enjoyed watching children feeding the ducks. Learned about the Donald Campbell story (Bluebird K7) Good food from Cafe...More
Coniston is beautiful, very picturesque and serene. My family and I (2 adults, 2 children & 2 dogs) took the boat across the water to Brantwood where we enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens and a super sized lunch in the cafe. Lovely place...More
Had a great time on here boating with a group of children. The lake was calmer in the morning but not too bad in the afternoon. Nice cafe nearby and all the facilities. It was really nice for a little dip on a hot day.
Interesting visit and interesting listening to facts about Donald Campbell's attempt to break world record. Interesting that Gina Campbell gifted the Bluebird K 7 to the Ruskin museum
