This church has two sections, technically one for Grasmere and one for Rydal. There is a 'leper' door near the main altar where people could come to receive communion. The wards worth graves are in the churchyard. The best time to visit is the second...More

The exterior of this church is not terribly attractive, in addition there is refurbishment taking place. Force yourself to go inside and you will see that it is a gem.

Shame about the necessary repairs but the church is very nice and outside gardens are quite beautiful with great views of the surging river after all the recent rain the previous day.

A must visit venue whilst in Grasmere, fascinating history. Disable access is fine and getting around the grave yard was easy.

Beautiful grounds . A lovely, calming atmosphere. Peace walks part of the grounds is tranquil and emotive. A great place to visit to step away from the tourists in the village x

I stopped into St. Oswald's on a recent visit to Grasmere. As has been pointed out, the church is undergoing renovation and there was quite a bit of scaffolding up. However, it was still worth the visit to this lovely church.
