Today was the second time we have finished the 'Wordsworth Walk' around Grasmere Lake and Rydal Water, in the rain, at the garden centre, enjoying lunch. Just a bowl of soup and roll, and coffee. Quick friendly service, and such an interesting shop. And clearly a popular place.

This garden centre is a real find for a spot of lunch and it's dog friendly . It offers tasty food at a good price. It's worth a browse in the shop afterwards as it has lots of interesting items.

Have eaten here several times and it has always been lovely. However, on this occasion the male employee preparing the hot drinks, spent a significant amount of time rubbing his hands through his hair; stroking his chin; and rubbing his neck and shoulders in between serving customers. I only placed an order, because somebody else took over his duties!

Staying in Grasmere we decided to have a wander in before leaving. Opening a little later on Sunday, when we arrived they still seemed to be getting ready for opening (even though according to the sign opening times they already were). This wasn't a good start as there was also other potential customers who were about to walk away, too.... More

Why have I never been here before? Living locally I never gave this place a second thought but looking to entertain older visiting friends, it really hit the spot. A nice retail selection for a smaller shop and a lovely cafe.

As regulars to this part of the Lakes we have visited the cafe at the Garden Village on many occasions and whilst never being blown away have generally been satisfied. Until today sadly. A pot of tea and scone is not the hardest thing to get right is it? We were served by a surly young man of probably eastern... More

Lots of quirky and interesting gifts, clothes, garden bits & bobs, all reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Cafe and toilets on site, with parking for patrons. Beautiful autumnal garden area at the front- lots of photos being taken by tourists (ourselves included!).

If I'm going to be honest, our intention was to visit somewhere else in Grasmere for tea and cakes. We only parked in the Garden Village's car park, because it was free, but then remembered we had a 90 year old relative with us who was unable to manage the walk to our planned destination. Thus, we opted to stay... More

What a lovely place with so much choice of gifts and the garden accessories are stunning with slate, wood carvings etc. We didn't have time to stop for a drink but the cafe looked very inviting with a lovely area outside with amazing views, we can't wait to go back.

Although primarily a garden centre he biggest attraction for me is the cafe. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. If you are after an unusual gift, the shop has plenty to offer. They also have their own car park which makes it easy when you are visiting Grasmere on four wheels.
