As a great fan of all the work Beatrix Potter did in the lakes district, I was happy to visit the house and garden she loved. Lots of lovely things on display, but the downstairs was so dark, it was difficult to see. Lovely bits...More

This is one of those properties that is lovely for members but looking at the price for non members it is very over priced. It is nice to look around and spot bits that Potter used in her illustrations, the tiny garden is lovely. Most...More

We so enjoyed our visit to Hill Top Farm and learning about the history of Beatrix Potter. You will need to queue to get tickets and then probably have a wait to enter but it's worth the wait. The house was charming and the gardens...More

Signage needs to improve. Fine if you are coming off the ferry but not via the road, and the ferry was closed and no signal for sat nav. Also once there signage poor. The house had a warm feel but a bit overcrowded inside. I...More

Yes it doesn't take long to go around it, but it was nice to see it. They are trialling allowing dogs into the garden which was great as myself and my husband could take a turn in the house.

Another highlight of the trip. Down memory lane. Beautiful scenery in this part of the world. Went and saw her house and garden. Beautiful one can visualise Beatrix sitting in her garden and drawing her rabbits and ducks and eventually in books. Amazing. Go next...More

If you are a Beatrix Potter fan then worth a visit just to see her actual house. We are national trust members but did think It a little overpriced if you are not as there is more to see at the other centre.

Interesting house but like all national trust properties over priced. Went on rainy day, got car park space in the small car park but had to wait in the rain as visitor tickets are issued to set times. Bit of a walk from car park...More

Drive directly to Hilltop Farm and find a parking spot near the ticket office. They’ll allocate you a time slot based on demand. We were lucky to go straight in as mid afternoon and apparently quieter than normal - the farm... More
