We visited in January 2017, we walked round the gardens, water feature and the pond which took all of 30mins. The castle was closed, presumably for repairs during the down season. £7.50 each for what was a 30 minute walk seemed a little steep. Probably best to come in spring/summer and maybe they should discount the entrance fee during the... More

Definitely one of those places you are glad you've visited....wonderful grounds with lakes, walled gardens, orchards and bee hives. The castle itself was immense, steeped in history - one of those places with an impressive great hall and you know every other room is going to be equally as impressive. If you want a breathtaking experience, make sure you climb... More

Just wanted to say what a truly magical experience we had visiting Santa in his beautiful barn at Sizergh Castle this weekend. Santa himself had all 4 boys mesmerised, especially with his link back to the North Pole as he talked them through the "magic" of how he manages to get round the world with the presents. They were visibly... More

We live relatively close by and are members of the National Trust so visit often, though not always the house. Beautiful grounds with interesting plants and trees. We often take a picnic.

We usually tend to visit the gardens mainly and like cycling to this venue. (Avoid the dual carriageway if visiting by bike) . The gardens are interesting with a new stumpery, herb garden , small lakes, beehives, chickens, orchard and rock garden. It doesn't take too long to go round the gardens leaving plenty of time to enjoy tea or... More

A beautiful example of National Trust. Take a picnic and spend all day in the castle and gardens. I would happily visit... More

This is a stunning house set in lovely landscaped grounds. It is lovely to walk around the gardens and the house itself is fascinating. Good cafe provides lunch and younger members of the family could run off energy in the extensive park land. Good day out. Visit Sizergh Farm as well . Interesting and sells some great food in the... Beautiful grounds and a lovely hall. To walk around here is to taste a slice of perfect English history. The gardens at different times of the year are spectacular.

We were having a wonderful time here after getting our tickets a wonderful lady on the till directed us to the barn for some pumpkim carving. The kids loved it as did mum and dad. Everyone in the barn were lovely, helpful and engaging, we left smiling and happy. From there we proceeded to do the bat hunt and on... More
