My partner and I plus dog paid our first visit to the Castle this afternoon and thought the slight effort in getting there was well worth it - easy to find, nicely maintained, interesting information boards and panoramic views over the town and surrounding hills....More

The path up to Kendal Castle is wide, the hillside green, and the view once you arrive at the castle is fabulous. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny September day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There are information plaques throughout the site,...More

Got a bit lost trying to find it as sign posts from town stop after a certain point. The way we went meant going up a hill and there were steps to go up to get towards the castle. It was very cloudy day but...More

Was a lovely walk up to the castle and the view was fantastic. Plenty of space to walk around and view all the surrounding hills and town of Kendal. Great place to fly a kite! Castle remains are very interesting,

Great day out. The castle is not too far from the city centre and it’s dog friendly too. Great view of Kendal!

Sadly there is very little left of the building. However the redeeming feature has to be the 360 degree panorama, over the town, of the fantastic landscape of this part of Cumbria. We found the sign posting from the town somewhat confusing and the green pathways...More

Not exactly a short walk from the town centre, but worth the 20 to 30 minutes it takes you. Good views of the surrounding countryside, and decent ruins at the top of the hill.
