Took our 2 six year old girls here to experience climbing for the first time. We arrived a little early but this was OK as we took the chance to grab a coffee and cake from the cafe. The loved every minute of the hour and a half crazy climb session! The person in charge of the session (Joe) was... More

We took a youth group to the Crazy Climb which priced for up to 12 or 20 as it depends on the number of instructors. Kids had a blast and enjoyed tackling all the different walls including the Skyjump. You do need to get organised beforehand to get the consent forms signed and the centre provides harnesses and hats. (You... More

This was a good family activity. Some of the Crazyclimbs were quite challenging for them - but that's all part of it! SkyJump was great - although s bit scary!

My wife and i booked on to the skyline, via ferrata activity on a rainy thursday afternoon whilst storm doris huffed and puffed outside. We thoroughly enjoyed the activity. It was much more preciptious than we'd expected, peppered with a few short pauses hanging on precarious ledges waiting our turn in line. However, we felt very secure thanks to the... More

The Crazy Climb facility at the Lakeland Climbing Centre is brilliant for children of around 6 years and up. Great fun obstacles to climb and helpful staff. Good place for a kids party

Staff were VERY rude and I am very disappointed that you allow your staff to work with this amount of disregard to customer care. Told that one of the children couldn't boulder because one of the supervising adults couldn't tie a knot in the ropes (bouldering does not need ropes). After we decided that the rest of shouldn't climb as... More

after travelling 80 miles to get here, we filled in the first timers forms, checking the box- we would like guidance on using the ropes. We then got shouted at for being 'incompetent' and told we could not climb as is was not their job to offer us any advice & we should have brought our own instructor. AWFUL ESTABLISHMENT!

We are very sorry that you feel this way. We have a different recollection of events and feel our response was firm but respectful. We have a duty to ensure that our customers do not go and hurt themselves or others, which requires them to be competent at belaying for roped climbing. You rightly said that you needed a brush... Top quality climbing wall with great bouldering and routes. Also the staff are friendly and the chocolate brownies taste good.

We travelled from Sunderland to do the via Ferrata and it was absolutely worth it! We also decided to pay to do some top rope climbing and bouldering too. The staff were all super friendly. Neither my partner or myself can lead yet but there were a good few top ropes set up for us to do and the routes... More
