The tapestries are laid out in a relatively small space but give a really interesting insight into the history and significance of the Quakers over 350 years. A must for anyone interested in social history. It makes one understand the huge influence of Quakers in...More

Thank you for your review. A lot of the social history stories are still relevant today with Quakers working all over the world towards a peaceful and just society.

Very interesting tapestry exhibition with many panels. Some may be missing when you visit as they are sent on national and international tours, but always a large number in Kendal. An excellent tea room. All staff are very friendly and kind. Only has a small...More

Chilled out and relaxed. Plenty of room with friendly and helpful staff. The food is fantastic. I had the mushrooms n blue cheese on rye but they have an extensive menu. All reasonably priced too. I would recommend this for lunch.

The museum is great, and the details of the tapestry amazing, we spent 1.5 hours looking round, they have individual listeningdivises what is very good. The film showing how they made is fascinated

Thank you for taking the time to share your excellent review of your visit. The 40 plus panels, along with the extra displays do take time to enjoy - it is good that we don't show all 77 panels at once. We are setting off...More

This is an exhibition of many picture sized tapestries sewn by various different people. They depict scenes from history and famous Quakers. They are of a very high standard and require time and concentration to fully appreciate. The audio equipment helps to explain the stories...More

If you haven't seen the quaker tapestries this is a must. Set in a historic building close to the river Kent and adjacent to the shopping centre this is an ideal place to spend a couple of hours more if you want lunch.

Great little cafe on site. The salads with hummus and quiche were delicious. Highly recommend. The exhibition was enjoyable and informative. Definitely worth going to even if you do not have an interest in Quakerism.
