Lowther Castle is privately owned. Still in the Lowther family. They have been here for 850 years or so. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Come again!

yes absolutely. we took a 5 month old and a 4 year old. grounds are great for playing and the hidden castle has lots of areas suitable for younger ones

In my opinion 3 and above will be ok, there are higher stairs and constructions. And it aims to be very busy.
