One of the best lakes I have seen. Just spectacular and breath taking. The pier at Windermere has lots of geese and ducks which is a sight to behold. Juat amazing.

You will never cease to be wowed by the fabulous skies above the lake with the dramatic Lakeland hills in the background. Find the right spot and there is no better or more peaceful place to be.

Visited the lake on several occasions (around other tourist type activities) and every time the differing scenery was beautiful. Luckily we had dry, clear & sunny weather, so the best views were to be had. A "must visit" when in the area.

The café, converted from a grand boathouse, had delicious cake, biscuits, snack meals and lake view seating inside and out. Toilets immaculate. Looking forward to seeing the outdoor and conference centre currently being developed behind the café.

There are plenty of things to do in the area around Lake Windermere, hire a boat in Bowness or go on a cruise. The views of the lake are lovely from any direction.

The best place to go with a wheelchair is around the lake at the Amberside end also at bowmess on the share line. You can also go on the steamers.
