Brockhole on Windermere offers activities to suit everyone, from toddlers...

Brockhole on Windermere offers activities to suit everyone, from toddlers to adventure seekers to those in search of an ultra-relaxing experience whilst enjoying their time in the Lake District. It's all here in one place, set against stunning mountain views on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria. From family activities to glorious garden tours and seasonal events, there really is something for all ages. Why not explore 30 acres of beautiful historical gardens and grounds? Or picnic by the lakeshore and enjoy secret beaches with the family? If the children are feeling more adventurous they can swing or bounce through ancient woodland on Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets. Down by the lakeshore, you can hire kayaks and rowing boats, enjoy or catch the cruise boat across the lake, depending on the season. There's also archery, bike hire and mini golf on offer during the season. Don't forget to finish your day by taking in the stunning lake views offering stunning views towards the distant Langdale Pikes at the terrace café, while enjoying local ales and dishes. There's also a well-stocked gift shop and ever changing exhibition space to enjoy indoors.

We got the boat from Bowness to Brockhole. It was a wet day but we decided to make the most of it. We wondered round the grounds and looked at the gardens. The visitors centre was good with an indoor play area which is good for small children. We paid £2 to do the Beatrix Potter treasure hunt, you have... More

I went to Brockhole with my husband and 2 dogs in early March. The access for me in a powered wheelchair was very poor, with steep inclines and obstacles in the way. I found it most frustrating and gave up quickly. I will not be returning.

Having visited Brockhole a few times in the past for something to do that involves keeping the kids and dog happy, we have always found it a nice place to visit. Our last visit was not so pleasant, having been caught in the rain and rushing back to the car with a tired child and wet dog we quickly packed... More

The adverts I read painted an exciting picture of what was on offer at this park but failed to mention the exorbitant price of most of the activities. In fact they gave the impression that it was all free. We weren't interested in the tree top wires which was just as well at £17 for each participant. The mini golf... More

Visitor Centre We passed this facility a few times, and thought it might be a way of filling an odd hour on a wet day. We walked there today, and were amazed. We expected a few rooms with exhibition of history and wild life. But there are activities galore, with children getting togged up for adventures in the trees, and so... More

Me and my girlfriend had a great time here one morning in July last year. We hired a rowing boat for 2 hours and really enjoyed being out on the lake. The staff down by the lake hiring out the boats were excellent 10/10. I nearly rated 4/5 because of the parking charges though. Yes, those that come and enjoy... More
