    Enjoyable first visit
Despite visiting Blackpool almost annually for over 30 years, I have never been to the Sandcastle before. There is a small car park adjacent but it’s not well signposted and easy to miss. Inside the foyer is well done with an internal waterfall, a small cafe and a good seating area. The changing rooms were clean and the wristband locker system was easy to use. The water park is fun for kids (we had 2 of my grandkids - aged 4) with us and there is a good amount of things to keep them entertained. Of course you can’t really swim but that’s not what it’s about. Enjoyable.

Great day out - cabanna well worth it.
Fabulous day at Sandcastle. We had tiki cabanna so were there all day. It was first day of Easter holidays but not busy, short queues for rides. Good selection of slides for all ages although we mainly did 4 hyperzone slides repeatedly. Adults enjoyed spa too. Place spotlessly clean, beeutifully designed and staff all really friendly and helpful.

    Waterpark
We booked one of the last available time slots for our visit which was the clever thing to do as it was quiet! Prices are on the expensive side. All rides and slides were open throughout our visit with the exception of the Master Blaster which was just open intermittently. The water park was clean and tidy, including the changing area. A variety of different slides and attractions for all ages. Any staff encountered were friendly. Pay and display parking is available or there is a tram stop right outside.

    Great
Great place with the kids. Accommodates all needs. Food isn't great upstairs over priced. One girl didn't really have a clue what she was doing and gave me the wrong item missing items about 3 times just stood their staring at me.. the rides are great and the workers are always busy too helping out when they can making sure everyone is safe. You are best going early as after 12 they seem to just let any mount in and u really can't move kids jumping from all angles. Visited Blackpool 4 days and this was the best activity we done kids enjoyed it and agree too the pool is not cold and nor is walking around. Expensive tho but what isn't now

    Exceeded expectations!
We visited during the Easter holidays on a weekday. We booked the first slot (9am) and I did not regret leaving my house at 07:30 lol. We went on all 5 hyper-zone slides by 10am, no queues and then chilled for the remainder of our allocated time plus we went on our favourite 3 slides again! It was lovely and clean, staff were really friendly and there was an adequate number of facilities for the amount of people there. We went with our 13yo and 9yo (he did get a friction burn on his back on a slide but he is slim for his age). Would definitely recommend.

    The cabana is incredible!
What a fantastic visit we had to sandcastle water park, I visited her with my husband and my daughter and my parents and we hired the tiki cabana for the day to celebrate my daughters birthday. I would definitley return to the cabana it was absolutely fantastic, we all received a meal each at our chosen time, alcoholic and soft drinks included also. Plus our own private hot tub, mini fridge, television, fruit bowl and private seating areas. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, thankyou sandcastle water park for a visit we won't forget.
Thank you for review, we are delighted you enjoyed your visit and our Tiki Cabana Experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon. The Sandcastle Waterpark Team.

    Brilliant value for money
As a family of four (two teenagers, one with special needs) , we hired the tiki cabana on the last day of the Easter holidays. We were welcomed at the entrance and shown to our spot. The facilities were great, the staff really friendly and knowledgeable and the food and drink supplied was plentiful and very good. The park facilities and rides were very good and very clean. Would I visit again? Certainly. Would I cabana? Definitely. Bravo.

Came to Blackpool for an overnight basically to do Sandcastle and Pleasure Beach. Came with two kids 7 and 11. Came in Easter Holidays was always going to be busy. Recommend booking the last slot time (4pm) because every 30 mins afterwards people will leave and it gets quieter. Arriving at 4pm it was rammed, shoulder to shoulder which felt quite uncomfortable. This eased as time went on. Slides were brilliant kids loved them. My biggest and only complaint was the cleanliness. The water was cloudy dirty, witnessed people blowing snotters into the water, ripped off wristbands floating aboot the water. It felt really dirty being in the water. And the changing rooms are filthy. Floors dirty and drains stink. Genuine honest review. Now I’ve been don’t think I would return.

Get there early - great slides! Recommended.
My experience - visited Easter holidays, arrived 9am and place really quiet. Had the place almost to ourselves and just went up and down all the rides. By say 10.30 few more people, by 11am getting busier. Found it really clean, lifeguards all seemed helpful and switched on. IMO - get their early if you can face the early start!

    What a fab place!
Compelled to review this place after such a wonderful day out with my teen! Honestly it was an impromptu decision that was a great one at that! I can’t remember feeling all the feels, excitement, happiness, nervousness and having so much fun and actual belly laughs in a long while! Really really is worth the money providing you actual go on all that they offer. We went in max capacity o think there were 3 tickets left when we booked last minute and it wasn’t overly busy probs waited less than 10 mins for all the rides if not less! So much to say about this place ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Great place for kids but lots of age and hight restrictions so read the small print first before taking a bank loan when booking.
My family were ok with the hight and age but I was made to stand on scales to take my weight and ended up not getting on the rides! So waist of money for me! Might I suggest that the establishment think of a better way of weighing people in a more private and dignified place before shaming in front of a line of people! Light went red and was told no! I was to heavy! Embarrassing. So bottom line is if you are more that 18 stone don’t bother!

Far too busy. Went here with my 7 year old son in February. I thought with it being February, pleasure beach closed so was out of season it would be quiet. I was wrong. The place was jam packed, pool absolutely crammed, and a massive wait for every slide. Even the small slides had big lines. I'd hate to see what this place would be like in the summer.
The way they advertise the slides gives you a false sense too. Theres only really a few slides worth waiting for. Our favourite was the aztec falls which we finally got on after a 20 minute wait. We didn't get to go on the other big one as the lines were too big. It could be a great day out but they need to linit the numbers they let in. The prices they charge are ridiculous too so we didn't get our moneys worth

Fantastic day at the Sandcastle waterpark. Took 4 boys aged 12 years, they loved it! Whilst it was busy (half term) the queues for the slides were fine, favourite ride was aztec falls and they loved the wave machine and lazy river! Clean changing rooms, really friendly staff, great day out!

Had a brilliant time today with my son who is autistic. Always worry about taking him to waterparks as we’ve had some bad experiences in the past at other venues. The disability awareness of the staff is amazing. We were offered an accessible poolside changing room on arrival and I can’t thank you enough for the difference this made to our visit. My son really struggles with crowded and noisy changing rooms, we also struggle to find changing rooms big enough for me to help him change now he is adult sized and this just made all the difference in the world to our visit! It was busy with it being half term but it was very well managed didn’t feel overcrowded in the pool are and the waiting time for the slides wasn’t bad at all! We will definitely be back!

Ruined mine and my family’s day by coming across a huge cockroach in our changing room, did try and speak to a member of staff who just shrugged it off like it was common. However I did manage to get an apology but it doesn’t really cut it. Up until this point we had a really good time, enjoyed the slides. Since reading reviews I’ve noticed this isn’t the first time either that cockroaches have been found. 11/2/24

We always enjoy a visit to the Sandcastle but this year was a bit disappointing. You still have to book your slot online in advance so they can monitor visitor numbers but in my opinion they let to many people in. It was so busy we struggled to get a changing room and you could hardly move in the pools, and I'm not exaggerating. It was almost shoulder to shoulder. You couldn't enjoy yourself. The queues for the slides were horrendous. And to top it off I paid extra for a spa wristband only to see people getting in for free! I was in the spa area when someone scanned their wristband to let multiple people in. One member of staff did come in and ask where their wristbands were but they simply said they'd fell off, and that was that! What is the point? I enjoyed all the elements of the spa area as that wasn't overly busy so I felt I could relax, but as for the pool and slide areas, it was far too busy, bordering on dangerous. If someone got into difficulty I can't imagine the lifeguards would see them through the hoards of people. We did enjoy the attractions even though we had to queue for a while, our daughter really enjoyed all the kiddie areas. We did enjoy it as it got quieter later on but the first 2 hours it was far too busy.

Thank you for your review and your feedback. Thank you also for your comments regarding numbers in the waterpark. Sandcastle Waterpark is extremely popular and does get busy, particularly at peak times such as the school holidays but the numbers are managed and are always at a safe capacity. We do monitor the Spa and i apologise that people gained entry without a wristband. Thanks again for your feedback without this we are unable to improve the experience for our Guests. Your feedback will be passed to the relevant department and they will take this on board. We hope to see you again, The Sandcastle Waterpark Team

Visited after not being for a good few years, thought we would visit as we had heard Merlin had taken over the waterpark operations- entrance was fast and speedy, changing rooms were cleans and well maintained was nice to see the place busy especially in January. Was nice and warm inside as well. The place itself is amazing a lot to do however nothing had changed since the last few times we had visited same attraction etc, we feel like Merlin taking full ownership would really allow this attraction to have further development and offer more attractions for us to enjoy plus tidy it up a little, theming was starting to look tired, as well as the outside faceade/ signage looking very shabby and needing some work (except the one new sign BPB facing). It just feels like a money pit for the council to have ownership. However we did have an amazing experience obviously there is areas that could be improved on it just needs the right ownership/ leadership involved to pursue this. We will be back in the future however we will wait for some TLC to be given to the park first!

How this is advertised as being a tropical climate is beyond me, the temperature of the pools and inside the building itself was far from satisfactory. The water temperature resembled that of an arctic expedition, making the supposed leisure activity an endurance test. The heating system seemed to be on a permanent vacation. The overall temperature was more reminiscent of an ice bucket challenge than an enjoyable swim. Save yourself the shivers and don’t bother. The only pleasant thing about the experience was the staff were all friendly and polite
