This is not a large museum, but they have managed to put a lot into it. We were fascinated by the meteorite, fossils and related information. They have a small art collection, very varied, and other galleries with changing exhibitions. Well worth a visit.

Not interested in the museum so comment on only the gallery which had exclusively Victorian (except for some modern "stuff") paintings, best a Boudin) but a pleasant enough way to pass 30 mins.

Disappointed by the lack of artifacts in this exhibition, seeing as it was 50 years ago since Joe Orton died, and Leicester was his home town where he grew up.

Permeant collection is good. Mineral collection display is very tatty. A lot of Asian ethnic material. Not enough variety or balance. Some good temporary exhibitions. Great building.

We visited for the annual amateur art exhibition which was brilliant - well displayed works by local artists. The rest of the museum is old fashioned, staid and uninspiring. We regularly visit the art galleries in Nottingham, Liverpool, Bristol and Derby - all of which...More
