Great for buying Asian clothing or going out to eat. Lots of jewellery shops. Best time to go is on Diwali. Lots of goldsmiths.

When ever I go to Leicester I visit this area as it is full of lovely saari shops and is somewhere different to visit. There are also some good gold shops here.

This area has been slowly going downhill for 20 years. It was like a mini taste of Gujarat. It had lots of interesting independent shops such as Friends Electric. The Gujaratis have mostly moved on or passed away from old age and it is now becoming a Pakistani ghetto full of takeaways, litter, rude behaviour yobs and bad driving just... More

There really isn't much to report, multiple restaurants, and many take aways.Apart from the odd saree shop, and a few jewelry shops, you can find most of these premises in any Asian area.I don't understand why this is supposed to be a tourist attraction.

It's around the corner from highcross but completely different. That's because of its history. Many immigrants of Asian origin moved to this road in the first half of the 20th century after the Highfield area had become saturated. Many started businesses here too. This gave the road a distinctive character in regards to the restaurants and stores where you can... More

It's not that the Belgrave Road, or Golden Mile as it's more commonly know, is a particularly bad place. But it's remarkably average considering the reviews it gets. Many people have only ever visited for Diwali, meaning that they have seen the very (and I do mean very) best the Belgrave Road has to offer. At the end of the... More

Went along on Sunday early evening for the Diwali celebrations. Very very busy but we had a great time wandering into lots of shops and food places. Most of the food and sweet stores were queued out but we managed to try quite a few different things. We headed round to the park for the Fireworks display and watched dancing... More

We took a trip along the Golden Mile to see the Diwali lights and visit the big wheel that's there for the festival this week, it's lovely to go in the evening during the Festival of Lights, the shops are open and the streets are filled with families enjoying Diwali and soaking up the atmosphere, the lights are so pretty...
