Went to see the celebrations for the Chinese New Year in Chinatown, got there a bit late so missed some of the display. What we did see was spectacular, big crowd who seemed to enjoy it as much as we did.

Fancied a Chinese with my daughter whilst in Liverpool on a Saturday. one resturant and one cafe open which didn't look the best either. Nothing like manchester, very small area, didn't stop. You would have thought for Liverpool, this area would be a major attraction...More

Big ornate arch at street entrance to main restaurant area in Chinatown. Street signs in chinese. Liverpool China town is quite spread out. But this run of restaurants and social centre is the most concentrated

The arch is stunning but the rest of chinatown is very small and looks run down. It’s on the way to the catherdal so worth a detour but not worth a trip otherwise unless you are planning to sample one of the restaurants.

The Chinatown is the oldest Chinese community in Europe and has a big Chinese-style architecture- arch (paifang). The arch was finished in 2000 and is the tallest Chinese paifang in Europe with beautiful hand carved dragons. If you are craving Chinese food or have time...More

The "Chinatown" area of Liverpool is very small. The arch that you enter by is impressive. it seems to consist of a few restaurants and shops and little else. Unless you are a huge fan of Chinese food it is not worth going out of...More
