We took a bus and stopped in Bayswater Road just opposite to Queensway. The walk along the path in Hyde Park leading to the Palace is delightful. Lots of people are walking their dogs, some on leash and others running free and having a great time chasing the birds and squirrels. The palace was where Queen Victoria grew up and... More

Primarily talks about Queen Victoria and her early life, the various rooms, her famous coronation, her writings, dresses. Beautiful paintings that adorn the walls and ceilings are really wonderful.....but disappointing that no one mentions anything about Princess Diana who lived here for few years.

This palace is nice to visit and is in a park with a pond. I wasn't as impressed with this castle as I was with Windsor Castle. For one part of the palace was closed (they were changing exhibits. You will need to double check their website before you go to make sure everything is open). Also, there is no... More

My partner and I have Historic Royal Palaces membership, so Kensington Palace was obviously on our list to visit. We're both very glad that we didn't have to pay for entry, as it turned out to be a big disappointment. Hampton Court, The Tower of London, and The Banqueting Hall all provide an excellent visitor experience with interesting and informative... More

Visited Kensington Palace with family (1 × grandparent + 2 kids 8yrs and 11 yrs). Was enough jet to keep all entertained for an hour or so. Good intro to Palace life but we have no other Palace experiences to compare to. Cafe was nice for lunch, food was good, place was clean, prices reasonable.

I'm usually a huge fan of London museums, which are imaginatively curated and inexpensive (often free). Sadly, Kensington Palace is neither of these. The static exhibits are dull and poorly-lit, and the admission price is steep. Save your money and take a walk in Hyde Park instead!

A gorgeous area for photo opportunities! In addition, the palace is surrounded by Kensington Gardens and not too far from many other landmarks and parks, such as, Hyde Park, The Albert Memorial and V&A Museum, so it makes for a great area to explore. It was also very easy to get to this area as quite a few Underground stations... More

I am a member of the Royal Historic Palaces, the card that gets you into the Tower, Hampton Court, etc. and this was next on my list. And it was my birthday. Quite excited. Oh dear!!! This is a very dull place to visit, with a very confusing and poorly curated exhibition. Very little to see. Lots of silly writing... More

We found the story of Queen Victoria very moving, from a lonely childhood, to marry young and become Queen then to be widowed. Most of the exhibits are from documents, interests and moments in Queen Victoria's life. Loved the grand King's staircase with the stunning murals to the less ornate Queen's staircase and the magnificent paintings, tapestries and sculptures in... More

We enjoyed a 3 hour visit to Kensington Palace and the grounds around there - Orangery, Sunken Garden and pond. Loved the Christmas tree in the stairwell in the Queen's state apartments. We lucked out and were in time for a nice performance from the Prince Regent's Band performance of Victorian carols and Christmas music played on 19th century instruments.... More
