While there are plenty of 'must see' sites and everyone has to visit the British Museum & British National Gallery, the crown jewel (pun intended) for the national museums is the Victoria & Albert. Incredibly educational - probably the best written descriptions I have ever seen in any museum worldwide. The exhibits are cleverly set up- some are designed to... More

The V&A is free and a great museum. It is a wonderful introduction to British and European culture. It also has great special exhibitions, including a wonderful fashion and textile department. A current exhibition on the father of Rudyard Kipling is worth a visit.

Amazing museum, offering broad range of experiences, from Renaissance art to fashion, to iron work to jewelry. The jewelry collection is exceptional! Overall a beautiful building and a special atmosphere. Need 2-3 hours to get the best experience.

Staying in Knightsbridge

Neighbourhood Profile
Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.
