Hampstead Village is a very picturesque place and is worth a stroll around. Unless you are visiting Fenton House (National Trust) I would come here early on a Summer evening as opposed to during the day - after visiting nearby Hampstead Heath maybe. Most of...More

Cute alleys and rolling hills filled with the prettiest little cottages and gardens. Flowers, shops and old pubs everywhere, close to Hampstead Heath. Feels and looks like old countryside village, yet quickly accessible by tube. Fairytale charm!

Hampstead Village is the type of place you feel you've been before. No, it's not for the rich history, nor for the fact that many a movie has been shot here - it's the way in which the trendy new and culture intertwines with the...More

When here you could imagine you were in a real village in the country, with the cobbled streets, churches, little squares and interesting shops. The best way to get here is by Underground to Hampstead station. I come to Hampstead every year to visit various...More

When not in Richmond Park or Greenwich we pop up here on the Northern Line. There is so much to do and see. The old squares and different churches could take a whole day to see. The Catholic church, St John's and the windy streets...More

The closeness of Hampstead Village contrasts amazingly with the vastness and beauty of Hampstead Heath! The Historic atmosphere of the Village is unique. So many lanes and nooks and crannies to enjoy. Guided tours from Hampstead Station at the weekend reveals a wealth of historical...More

A pleasant place to stroll, with some interesting shops and buildings. Prices here are generally very high and the art galleries clearly cater for the rich.

Well worth a visit for those who like something out of the ordinary. You can spend a whole morning wandering round and discovering such oddities as an old Parish jail (Cannon Lane), the Admiral's House (in The Grove) where the owner used to fire a...More

This lovely, old village in north London is a great place to take a leisurely walk. There are lots of little shops, interesting buildings and narrow cobbled streets. Parking is a nightmare, so take the tube!

Worthy of comment because it is a bit unusual. Carefully preserved little junction with some older buildings and styalised presentation. Astronomical house and business prices. Neat and pretty without being relaxed or fun. Can see why it may be kept like this for ever bit...More
