Overwhelming number of works and genres. You could spend days on any one work, and there are close to 3000 here. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit (about 3 hours), but I know I was "art grazing" rather than really studying anything. If you're a local...More

Truly beautiful museum. The staff is kind and helpful. The paintings are fascinating and I love that during my visit there were some schools visiting and people who were explaining some paitings to them. So good to see young children learning art.

I am not an 'art' person...but this place was breathtaking. The portraits all have hidden stories, some not discovered until you read the excerpts and look deeper. Well worth a visit..and free too!

I adore the fact that attractions like this are free to the general public. Access to arts and culture are hugely important and this was an incredible experience. Rooms and rooms of beautiful pieces of art, even with some live stuff from people doing imitations...More

Could spend all day here but get punch drunk if you did all the collections. The temporary shows are usually very good.
