Great family visit, have been here a few times but it is exactly what it says on the book, not really an exciting place. But it'll suffice.

A superb collection of paintings. Try to go early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid massive crowds for the best viewing.

The National Gallery has a lot of paintings spread throughout. My personal favorites are the Monet’s. Many of the paintings are portraits of wealthy dead people. There is a also a lot of religious art. Neither of those are particularly interesting to me, as I...More

Having travelled the world and been to hundreds of the world’s best museums I can confidently say that it’s a world-class collection, nicely presented, but there are lots of stairs and the layout is a bit labyrinthine, which is a nuisance. Kids space also closes...More

I can only give praise to this museum. Great art museum with free entry. The outside and inside is classic but sleek and the atmosphere tends to be relatively calm with people speaking in normal tones.

I had yet another visit last week and it was a magical as ever. I try to focus on just a few rooms each visit but it was friendly, vibrant and with polite and helpful staff as usual.

Great museum, great art! This review is for visiting the museum on a Sunday in August. The number of people made it difficult for us to fully enjoy the arr. Could not help taking a photo of the crowds in front of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers.

Although I thoroughly appreciate with the museums artwork, I found myself somewhat bored, after an hour, due to the repetitiveness of classic art. Perfect trip for any lovers of history and classic art!
