Harrods remains at the height of British luxury retail, attracting millions of loyal customers from across the globe with its unrivalled product selection, world-class service, innovative retail theatre and historic setting. The store was opened in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod as an expansion of his humble East End grocery and tea business. Today, it is one of the most distinguished names in the world. Seven floors and 330 departments showcase the best of luxury merchandise, from high-end fashion and accessories to the finest homewares and the latest technology. There are 28 restaurants in-store; we continue to enhance our portfolio with Galvin Demoiselle, Bentley's Sea Grill, and the institution that is The Georgian. Customers enjoy a wealth of exclusive services, such as By Appointment Personal Shopping and The Penthouse, a private suite dedicated to unsurpassed bespoke service in a beautiful environment. Other departments include the Urban Retreat at Harrods spa, a theatre ticket bureau, and The Studio, the store's interior-design service. Qatar Holding acquired the business in 2010, and it continues to guide - and invest strongly in - the store according to its philosophy: Anything is possible. Harrods continuously seeks to surpass the desires and expectations of its customers, staying true to its original motto: Omnia omnibus ubique (everything for everyone, everywhere). Harrods is located on Brompton Road, near the Knightsbridge London Underground station.

Really enjoyed wandering through Harrods. The food halls were unbelievable, I loved all the produce on display and the areas where shoppers could stop and indulge in oysters, steaks, sushi etc. From here we took in other floors and also visited the souvenir section of...More

It was not what I expected. It was just packed solid with people everywhere. Went up to a few different floors and left as soon as possible. It was a weekend and a rainy day. I think this must have became the indoor attraction of...More

Wow, better bring a big wallet! They have some pricey stuff ! Great store, definitely worth exploring! We also staid for lunch, pudding and tea at their tea room. Go on the morning and allow a couple of hours, followed by a nice lunch!

Harrods is not everyone's cup of tea, certainly. But if you are of a mind, it can be great fun and very tasty, too. The food courts are great to stroll and imagine, and occasional bargains are offered. Sundaes in the creamery room were fun....More

My favorite department store in the entire world. If you like designer goods they have one of the largest selections of in stock items you'll ever see anywhere.

We hoped - among other things - to find a good stationery department at Harrods. But it was kind of disappointing. Very crowdy. We did have a nice lunch in the tearoom, though. I guess Harrods is one of these things you have to do...More

When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop,
they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined
tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And
when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already
got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the
perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion
walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the
ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this

I would definitely recommend booking, Harrods is extremely busy and a lot of places inside Harrods were turning people away unless they had booked :)

I would recommend the Food Hall, personally, I like the biscuits and cookies in the special Harrods tins. You get the enjoyment of the biscuits and a memento of your visit.
