Once the West End's most salubrious cottage, supposedly the haunt of Wilde, Orton, Gielgud & Crisp, CellarDoor is now London's cult cabaret bar, secreted beneath the Aldwych in a space just big enough for cats (both feline and human) to swing. We're open until 1AM seven nights a week with free acts from 9PM each evening including drag queens, femme fatales, magicians, crooners, burlesque beauties & more.

If you want a few drinks/cocktails, late on, in the Covent Garden area, with some comedy/cabaret/singing/burlesque on offer then give the Cellar Door a try. I've never booked, just turned up on spec after finishing up somewhere else. Pitched up a few nights ago and had some decent cocktails and beers with friends at the bar whilst watching the cabaret... What a fabulous afternoon. My Sister and I took my Mum to London to celebrate her 70th Birthday. We had High Tease at the Cellar Door and right from the moment we walked in we had so much fun. Glass of Fizz on arrival, staff were wonderful and the ambience was fantastic. Vicious Delicious and Pete on the keyboard were... More

We went for the High tea and tease. The show was really great, and both the male and female hosts were really charismatic. If I had one complaint, it was that there was a lot less burlesque than the advertising made it sound. The coctails were wonderful, and the high tea was really nice as well.

This bar is tiny and hard to find. You are looking for an awning and a set of stairs going down into the pavement just outside 1 Aldwych. It used to be a public toilet apparently. On descending the stairs you emerge in a bar seating perhaps 35. It is plush and louche. The waitress is dressed as a fallen... More

One of my favourite places to pop into in the centre of town. Always fun, busy, vibrant, hot and cool at the same time! Various themed evenings on different days of the week, often free entry. Very reasonably priced for the area drinks and huge selection of those too! You can even buy your snuff here! Love it, love it!

We went here on a Saturday evening. The place were full, so we didn't come in at first, but only had to wait for 5 minutes. The place was much smaller than I had expected, but really nice. The place were packed with fun people, a fantastic dj that set the mood. We also got to see a short burlesque... More

What a great wee bar and club. We had an amazing night. Fantastic entertainment and service was excellent. We booked for guarantee entry before 8pm and so glad we did as its a very small club. It's odd and different and so much fun. Just be prepared to be quite hot, especially when it fills up. We'll definitely be back.

We headed in here on a Friday night and we were pleasantly surprised by the quirky bar. Drinks were great (a tad pricy but worth it) and the bar staff (and security staff) were wonderful. Only slight inconvenience is that if people at the front don't sit down to allow for those at the back you can really struggle to... More

Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.
