Charming house with a relaxing cafe place

The house is lovely both from the outside and with the inside (including some great pictures). The outside cafe is great- but crowded on sunny days!

A bit out of the beaten track but always worth a visit, for the house, its collection, as well as the park (where sometimes concerts take place) and the view. A rarity to have survived the centuries and still giving its visitors much pleasure

It is some thirty years since I last visited Kenwood and I was not disappointed. The house and interiors has undergone a sensitive restoration. Within magnificent rooms are hung wonderful paintings by artists including Rembrandt, Reynolds and Gainsborough, to name but a few. Each room has extensive catalogues to view and captivating and informative narratives are provided by friendly guides.... More

The house is beautiful but I particularly love the gardens especially when the flowers are in bloom.

It is without doubt finest place in London to see art from famous masters ie Gainsborough, constable , Hogarth etc. It is FREE entry - there is excellent restaurant and lovely grounds for walks.

During/ after walk in woods. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment but cafe was open. Cafe serves average tea, coffee, sandwiches, crisps, etc. Ice cream and scones with clotted cream and jam are "must haves". Kenwood house itself is quite an impressive building with a decent collection of Turners and other venerable British impressionists. but the real reason for... More

This house is in a wonderful position overlooking London. Inside, a treasure trove of mostly old master paintings, including self portraits of several, including Rembrandt. Expected to spend maybe an hour and half, but spent much more enjoying the paintings. Very knowedgable room stewards were a bonus. Large grounds, adjoining Hampstead Heath, so great for a walk.

Ambling through Hampstead Heath I found this hidden gem. From the outside it's beautiful, but inside it's filled with magnificent paintings from the most celebrated artists. The guides there are very welcoming and friendly, and they are more than happy to tell you all about the fabulous treasures. Their knowledge is first rate and their insight into the paintings makes... More

Well what a lovely find! Tucked away on Hampstead Heath with beautiful surrounding greenery, garden, walks, culture, art and history - it felt a bit like hidden London. Will definitely go Heath walking again when I am next there - loved it all
