I had never heard of this location until I watched The Da Vinci Code. I'm not calling the film great, but I appreciate the exposure it gave me to The Temple Church. This place is ripe with history. The effigies are amazing. It's sad they were damaged during the bombings of WWII, but I think that just adds to the... More

We made it a point to partake in the Easter Palm Sunday Morning Choral service at Temple Church, and it surpassed all expectations. The church members are welcoming and the service was very personal, however, they went all out and the full boy's choir was present as was the men's choir, in full dress. I would go to London just... How utterly stunning I have a thing for the Templars due to ancestry and DNA and left the kid at the motorhome to do this(it's ok she's 14) and would you believe was invited in to their Easter Friday full choral service! If you can do do, go for it! A donation is all that is asked to experience the... More

The Temple Church is not easy to find but it is well worth the extra effort to find this hidden treasure. A beautiful example of a historic church with an inside look at the Knights Templar. The exhibit on the Templar's influence on the United States' Declaration of Independence and Constitution was fascinating. There is no tour but take your... More

You might miss the spirit of the Knights Templar if you do not look closely. Look at the faces. Who are these people? What were the masons thinking and who were they honouring? The Church might seem rather boring if you do not look closely. Look at each face and effigy. It is a wonderful church with a history to... More

Although I couldn't get inside the church, you can feel something mysterious surrounding this place. Hidden in between buildings, gives peace and quiet spot, where you can rest a bit in the middle of crowded city.

If you are interested in Medieval buildings and history, you can't miss this Gothic church inspired in the church of the Holy Sepulcre in Jerusalem and built in 1162. It was bombed during the II WW and some parts have been reconstructed. The visit will only take 30- 45 minutes as its not very big. They have also the tombs... More

See the church that was in the DaVinci Code but stay to understand the Middle Temple Law school and how many of the US presidents attended the law school. Beautiful gardens and wonderul place to look around. Go in my Fleet street and use GPS or you'll miss the way in.

Tucked behind Fleet Street is this lovely historic church. I don't have to say anymore because it deserves all the wonderful reviews.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
