Some lovely consistent architecture, nice planting and generally clean, peaceful and well-maintained properties. The more modern areas are well-integrated.

It's a nice location to walk around and have a nose in some estate agents' windows. There's clearly some nice houses and streets in easy walking distance of some of the great locations in London.

We enjoyed our walk and afternoon tea time in this neighborhood. It has a good safe walk and some stores and coffee shops.

Kensington is perfectly located to access all of London on the tube train and is the location of many museums and the fabulous Royal Albert Hall. Whilst it's pricey, it's a great location to stay and I would recommend it to tourists.

It is a large area of residential properties. Lots of great hotels, cafes, bars, restaurants. Great shopping not to mention the wonderful Kensington Gardens and Palace close by. With lots of transport connections to the rest of London.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
