The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud and privileged to be the custodian of the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London. The memorial has been built to be modern, yet classical, in Portland stone. At its heart are the bronze sculptures of a Bomber Command aircrew. Within the memorial, the space is open to the sky with an opening designed to allow light to fall directly onto sculptures of the aircrew.

The style of this attraction suits the thing it is commemorating very well. It needed to be something quite traditional and I am so glad that the art establishment didn't go for a stupid, trendy idea like the daft Diana Memorial in Hyde Park.

At last there is a proper memorial to the very brave men of Bomber Command who had a horrendously high attrition rate and achieved so much over more than 5 long years. This is a surprisingly moving monument.

A fantastic memorial to a section of the forces in World War 2 which was for far too long overlooked. This is well worth a visit and reflect upon how young so many of these men were and what they experienced.

Bomber Command is a memorial on Picadilly in Green Park and is quite beautiful, and emotional. Walking around it, in the park there are a few boards with things to read about the memorial and the pilots and crew it commemorates. Green Park is a lovely surrounding, for contemplation, and nearby is Hard Rock Cafe, the New Zealand war memorial,... More

This will be of special interest to anyone connected to the RAF Bomber crews or overseas allied families. Long overdue tribute which is scrupulously observed. Very moving. Make sure you walk around all four sides of this exception set of statues. Not forgotten or overlooked - at last

This Memorial was long overdue but makes up for it by being the most tasteful and memorable that I have ever seen a not to be missed sight to visit during any visit to London.

Great for anyone that had a relative or friend that flew in World War II. Really says what it was all about and the men who served

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
